Honda has a legacy with its name and the ‘CBR’ series
is something which defines the Japanese automobile giant. Recently the
company launched the CBr 250R which received a huge appreciation from
the upcoming market from all over the world. Riding on the success, the
company is developing a new sub-600cc motorcycle which might be targeted
at the developing markets.

We can make out from the pictures that the new CBR will be launched in 3 different models. Powering the new series will be the single cylinder 500cc liquid cooled engine based on the CBR 250. As the bike will be targeted at the mass segment, the product will carry the features more or less same as the CB250R like, single front disc brake, single side exhaust and the likes.

The liquid cooled single cylinder of CBR500 is expected to produce somewhere around 60 Bhp of power. In India, the launch of CBR 250 aligned with the global launch. With rising popularity of the Indian market, CBR 500 might see the Indian launch at the same time of its global launch which might happen in the second quarter of 2013. The Honda might put a sticker price of Rs. 6 odd lakh in India.
