At the launch ceremony in Mumbai today, Pioneer revealed its entire product line-up for next year, which included all AV units seeing the inclusion of a few innovative features - which were earlier exclusive to specific models - as standard: MIXTRAX EZ (a virtual DJ within the car, if you please), Advanced App mode (lets you sync your iPhone to the head unit, and then use the touchscreen VGA panel to control apps like Navfree, Google Maps), and Advanced Sound Retriever (enhances audio quality).
It's not just about swanky AV systems, though. Pioneer has also added a brace of affordable double-din CD receivers to go along with a couple of simple digital media receivers to its portfolio, both of which are endowed with Bluetooth connectivity as well as larger, more user-friendly displays.
Talking of speakers, the "Bullet" range of speakers are the newest addition to Pioneer's catalogue. Focusing on high output with extreme RMS & SPL, these aluminium-based speakers are quite light, too. Also, the "A-series" speaker range has been refreshed, with "Multilayer Matrix Mica Cone", a new type of speaker cone to improve clarity.
Present at the event, Mr.Shingo Ikeuchi, General Manager, Pioneer India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. said, "This year, we have a wider range of products including five options in Audio-video head-unit category and a mecha-free head-unit & tube sub-woofer, for the first time in our line-up. In short, we have solutions for every audio enthusiast, irrespective of his budget".
Also, speaking exclusively to TopGear about future product plans, Mr.Gaurav Kulshrestha, Manager – Marketing & Product, Pioneer India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. said, "We also have a new head unit that incorporates heads-up display, which will be a segment first, waiting in the pipeline. It's just a matter of time before we bring it to India."
