Google’s Nexus 7 has been proclaimed the most powerful Android Device
yet available on the market. But the scenario is supposed to undergo a
change with the launch of Acer Iconia Tab A110 by the end of this month for $229.99. But comparatively the Acer Iconia Tab A110 has lower resolution so the chances for Nexus 7 killer seems scarce.
Acer’s new Iconia Tab A110 is decided to be available in U.S and Canada Markets by Oct.30 for $299.99. The Tab is designed to be 7 inches and ships with the latest Android release 4.1 – Jelly Bean and is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor. The new Tab is sure to give stiff competition to names like Kindle Fire HD and Google Nexus 7.
Specifications of Acer Iconia Tab A110:
- 7″ WSVGA capacitive multi-touch screen with 1024 X 600 pixels resolution (low as compared to Nexus 7)
- NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core 1.2GHz mobile processor
- Google Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean
- 3420 mAh (12.65W) Li-ion Battery
- Internal Memory of 8GB – microSD expandable upto 32GB
- 1GB DDR3 RAM
- 193 X 126.5 X 11.4 mm dimensions with weight of 370gm
- 2MP HD Front-Facing Web-Camera
- Micro USB, HDMI, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, G-Sensor, e-compass, ambient light sensor, gyro-sensor
In many aspects the Acer Iconia Tab A110 seems to be at par with Nexus 7 with its micro HDMI connectivity that is absent in Nexus 7, but it falls below with its low resolution screen. As it is rumored that Google is considering Nexus 7 $99 – 8GB model and $249 – 32 GB model, the Iconia seems to have arrived late in the market. Sales details would be revealed only after 30 Oct, whether it will be able to compete the Nexus 7 or not is a question.
The Verge has conducted a benchmark test of the Acer Iconia A110 that has revealed score of 3656
